R. Robertson & Son Bus Graphics
Logo Rebranding and Graphics Update
Objective
Complete a subtle rebrand of current logo after the 75 year anniversary in 2023 that ensured continuity was obvious from the executive coach livery through to the “service” bus designs.
The older multi-coloured service coach designs were too far removed from the overall company branding. A cleaner design that was easier to maintain whilst on the vehicles but remained prominent, was visually eye-catching and provided a consistent level of corporate branding was required (any savings that could be made on production/fitting times and vinyl costs were also requested with any loss of impact).
Selection of coloured vinyls that would work well on both the white and grey vehicles was of importance to represent the company logos in a complementary and prominent fashion.
Process
Although the company services many local route in Shetland they often operate out with Shetland too.
Taking the “Driven by Experience Since 1947”, linking this with the global planet, Robertsons on the road swoosh and creating a new circular logo that can easily be incorporated to marketing for all platforms, our client was pleased with the results.
Keeping the lower panels of the bus free from graphics, as these are inevitably heavy wear and tear areas, should reduce the amount of vinyl replacements required.
By suggesting more economical ways to gang up the graphics during our production phase, the benefits are reduced waste and a financial saving for the company.
Aside from the small social media logos which were printed and laminated, the remaining graphics were all cut directly from the vinyl logs and matched to the proofs signed off by the customer pre-production.
The rear windows of the service buses were left blank to allow one-way vision advertising to be installed by our team. This provides an additional income stream for our client and we have been creating artwork and fitting advertising for them on a regular basis.
